The Space Empires Depot would like to celebrate the outstanding and unique community that makes the whole Space Empires experience even better. From time to time, I will select a Space Empires community member who has made outstanding contributions to the game and the community and will present them with a Community Service Award in the form of a Captain Kwok Medallion.

Suicide Junkie

The fourth medallion has been awarded to none other than Suicide Junkie. SJ has been a long time resident in the Space Empires community, during which time he has made countless contributions to the advancement of modding in SE:IV. Some of SJ's biggest modding achievements include his Pirates and Nomad's mod, leaky shields and armor, numerous programs like the SE:IV map analyzer, friendly collection projects like the ImageMod, and more recently his Gritty Economy and Carrier Battles mods. You can find most of his work on his little server HERE. Not only does SJ come up with new modding techniques, he is known for his eagnerness to help newbies find their way into the game, while using his mathematical skills for good rather than evil. Congratulations to SJ and I look forward to seeing what he'll do with SE:V and if he'll have a beard at our next annual Blue Jays game.

Atrocities

The third medallion has been awarded to the prodigious ship set maker and modder Atrocities, who has been an active community member for almost 5 years now. Not only has Atrocities designed and distributed over 30 race styles for Space Empires IV, he has also produced some of the community's favourite mods including the ASTmod, and picking up the pieces from my initial attempt to put together the definitive Star Trek Mod for Space Empires. Besides his valuable and numerous contributions of Space Empires supplements, we all have come to love his unique spelling, crazy rants, and his incredible 'good' luck. Regardless, it has been a pleasure to watch Atrocities over the years and hope he'll continue to keep his Space Empires factory in full gear for years to come!

Geoschmo

The second award has been given to long time community member Geoschmo. Geoschmo has been involved in the Space Empires community since the turn of the century and more importantly has operated the Play-By-Web service selflessly for the last 3 years - which alone can be considered the anchor that has kept the Space Empires community alive and well for so long after it's release. Besides responding to all our PBW needs and requests, Geoschmo provides countless modding and game ideas that continue to bring continued freshness to our favourite franchise. Thanks Geoschmo for all your dedication and time you have devoted to the community!

Imperator Fyron

The first award to be given out goes out to none other than Imperator Fyron. Fyron has been actively involved in the Space Empires community since SE:III, where he first began modding and participating in various endeavours such as the Space Empires Ladder. With the release of the SE:IV, Fyron became an active member in the Shrapnel Games forum, where he earned a reputation as a helpful and sometimes spirited member. Fyron has also made extraordinary contributions in terms of mods, with both his Quadrant Mod and more recently his Adamant Mod earning much praise, which are only a few of the items he's put together. Fyron also runs the biggest Space Empires fan site, Spaceempires.net which hosts the most mod and shipset downloads, all sorts of his Space Empires subsites, and forums. Fyron is also an active and founding member of the Space Empires Galaxies Roleplay, and fixture in the SE:IV IRC chat channel. Since Fyron's list of contributions to the community are so many, you can come keep track of all his activities at his SE.net site. Keep up the good work Fyron!
